DJ Kay Slay and Shaq Seek to Bridge the Gap

After consistently supplying the streets with mixtapes New York DJ Kay Slay is prepping his third official album with southern DJ/producer Greg Street.

The Champions: North Meets South will be released August 22 via a new joint venture between indie power Koch Records and four time NBA champion Shaquille O' Neal's new label Deja 34. The recently crowned champ is featured on the first single, 'Can't Stop the Reign', along with Slay protégé Papoose and Bun B. 'The Champions' includes bars from northern and southern new jacks and vets such as Fat Joe, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Busta Rhymes, Yung Joc, Remy Ma, Lloyd Banks, Three 6 Mafia, The Diplomats, Ghostface, Raekwon, Cassidy, B.G., David Banner, and Lil Jon.

Slay released 'The Street Sweepers, Vol. 1,' and 'The Street Sweepers Vol. 2: The Pain From The Game' through Columbia Records in 2003 and 2004 respectively. The two discs have sold more than 350,000 copies combined. Shaquille O'Neal has released five solo albums including 'Can't Stop the Reign' in 1996. He is one of the few players in NBA history to win Championships with more than one team.
