DMX Appears In Court; Due Back October 7

Embattled rapper DMX appeared in a Phoenix courtroom today (September 29) over a bench warrant for missing his last court appearance. The rapper, who was in court for less than two minutes, appeared fidgety as he stood before the judge, who ordered him back in court on October 7 for a status conference.

The rapper was originally due in court on September 23, but missed the date, after he was hospitalized in at a Florida hospital for symptoms associated with a stroke.

DMX is charged with four counts of drug paraphernalia and one count of marijuana possession. He also faces a felony theft charge and animal cruelty charges.

“I said it before and I’ll say it again, this guy is treating our legal system like a revolving door,” said Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio in a statement. “This is an outrage. Is it because of his notoriety that he is continuously released by the courts? It is about time the revolving door stop and the cell door close."

DMX is being held on a $25,000 cash only bond.
