Pharrell Drops Jewels for Louis Vuitton

ImageLouis Vuitton recently announced that producer/rapper Pharrell Williams is expected to design a new jewelry line for the label.

Designer Marc Jacobs selected Williams for the new collection, which will pair him with jewelry designer Camille Miceli.

Miceli recently styled Mariah Carey for her "Say Somethin'" music video, which was filmed in Los Angeles, California and Paris, France and also featured Pharrell and Snoop Dogg.

The Miceli/Pharrell line is only William's most recent venture into the fashion game. In 2003 he partnered with Reebok for his Ice Cream footwear collection and Billionaire Boys Club apparel line. In 2005 Reebok and Williams mutually agreed to dissolve their partnership, after Pharrell dropped a breach of contract suit he'd filed against Reebok, alleging that the company failed to meet the distribution and quality standards of his footwear and clothing collections. Williams still plans to independently produce both lines.

Miceli described her and Pharrell's shared vision for the collection, stating that the range of the items, "Is going to be jewels with such scale, so large and of course very, very unique."

Louis Vuitton is expected to unveil the Miceli/Pharrell collaboration in early 2007.
