Gillie Da Kid Inks W/ Koch, Drug Charges Dropped

Philly rhyme sayer Gillie Da Kid has officially signed with Koch Records, ending speculation of him signing with other labels. Having just inked a deal with Koch, the signing has now silenced rumors that the former Major Figgas rapper was going to either G-Unit or Atlantic Records.

The announcement comes after the Gillie was recently vindicated of all charges stemming from a 2007 arrest for drugs that landed the MC behind bars.

Philadelphia police and the FBI discovered $500,000 worth of marijuana in two houses authorities claimed were controlled by Gillie. But with the legal drama behind him, Gillie is ready to get back to making music.

"Shout out to Alan Grunblatt and Shadow Stokes at Koch for believing in a n*gga and standing by a n*gga through all of this...," said Gillie via a statement. "Shout out to my manager Yanna B. for doin' her thing and holdin' me down, and a big shout out to Tony Draper for comin' in and helping me seal the deal..."

The rapper shared the news while appearing on BET's "Rap City" yesterday (March 17) as his video for the single "Get Down On The Ground" aired. Gillie is said to be collaborating with several producers, hard at work on the completion of his latest album, Get It How You Live, which is set to be released on his own Figgas 4 Life Entertainment and Koch Records.

The album is scheduled for release sometime later this year.
