Common & Just Blaze Mix It Up W/ Smirnoff For New Remix Campaign

ImageCommon, Q-Tip and KRS-One will be revisiting some of their classics with a little help from super producers Just Blaze and Cool & Dre.

Smirnoff vodka tapped the hip-hop artists to recreate a few songs to help promote their new line of pre-mixed drinks, according to hip-hop insider Miss Info.

Common and Just Blaze will remake "The Light," Q-Tip and Cool & Dre will put a new twist on the Tribe Called Quest song "Midnight" and KRS-One and DJ Premier will recreate "Criminal Minded."

The new mixes of old hits are a nod to Smirnoff's new take on a classic flavor, featuring a line of new pre-mixed cocktails.

All of the artists will take the stage to debut their remade music at the Smirnoff launch party Feb. 26 in New York City. The songs will be available for download on

In related news, Common took home a Grammy award last night (Feb. 10) for his collaboration with Kanye West on "Southside." Common was nominated in three categories including Best Rap Album, which he lost to West's Graduation.
