Chino XL Lets "Poison Pen" Flow, Gives Aspiring MCs a Break

The release of Chino XL's highly-anticipated album Poison Pen has been pushed back to next month.

As previously reported, the double CD which was originally slated for a January release will also give aspiring rappers a chance to showcase their talent to the Activate label & Foundation Chi who are searching for what they describe as the "best new hot MC."

Poison Pen initially included two bonus tracks but it will now come with four bonus tracks. One of the tracks will be an interactive beat which artists can perform on and submit to the label within 90 days of the March 21 release date. Chino will then choose the best MC from the submissions.

The winner of the contest will be announced at the Pro-Am B-Boy Finals in Las Vegas and will get their own song released.

Addresses and other details will be available on the CD package which will include an enhanced music video playable on computers and a special link to Chino's lyrics.

Poison Pen also features appearances from Killah Priest, Psycho Les of The Beatnuts and D-12's Proof, among others.

Chino will also be releasing another album, Confirmation, via Sway and Tech's label, Bolo/Universal, later in the year.

Chino XL's Poison Pen will be released on March 21.
