Sway Goes Home For "My Block: The Bay"

MTV News' Sway will take viewers on a tour of his hometown next month with "My Block: The Bay."

Sway will give MTV2 viewers a glimpse into the rich social and musical history of California's Bay Area, which includes San Francisco and Oakland, from the turbulent rise and fall of the Black Panthers to the activist poetry of 2Pac, from underground stars like Hieroglyphics to superstars like MC Hammer.

Legendary Yay residents like E-40 and Too Short will give viewers a tour of their neighborhoods and show us a taste of what life is like in their neck of the woods.

My Block will also take a look at the cultures and artists that are reinventing the Yay including the Hyphy movement, which has been described as Northern California's answer to crunk.

My Block: The Bay premieres March 5 at 2pm est on MTV2, and will re-air March 16 at 7pm est on MTV.

In related news, E-40 is set to drop his new album, My Ghetto Report Card, next month as well. The album serves as the MC's debut for Lil' Jon's BME imprint.
