Earlier this week Major League Entertainment & The Kidz In The Hall announced that 22 year old Chicago lyricist Naledge has signed a joint venture between Hustle Period and Rawkus Records.

SOHH reported the return of the Rawkus label by issuing a Greatest Hits album this past December. The label is legendary for shining the light on some of hip hop's finest, including Mos Def, Talib Kweli and Pharoah Monche. This recently inked deal places Naledge as the cornerstone artist for the boutique label - a huge opportunity for Naledge, who is well known as one half of the duo Kidz in The Hall with partner and producer Double O.

With Naledge touted to be the next great MC to come out of Chicago SOHH had a chance to speak to him exclusively about inking his new deal. "I feel great. Life couldn't be better at this point. I'm getting the chance to live out a dream and that opportunity alone is crazy. To even think about somebody saying I'm going to hand you this, I feel like Barak Obama right now, I got all this hype and I been elected to the Hip-Hop Senate."

"Naledge is the quintessential next generation MC, he is definitely carrying the torch for Chicago and is certainly a perfect fit for the Hustle/Rawkus Brand," John Monopoly, Co-CEO of Hustle Period/G.O.O.D. Music said via statement."

"Naledge represents everything that Rawkus stood for in our first decade in the business, and we look forward to Naledge carrying the Rawkus flag into this new and exciting phase for the label. In Hustle we have an incredible partner that understands the music and the Rawkus movement. We look forward to a long and prosperous relationship," Jarret Meyer CEO/Co-Founder Rawkus Records said also via statement."

In his exclusive interview with SOHH Naledge addressed all the support he's received thus far from the industry and his new label, " I have some big industry cosigns. It's gonna be a big year for me to live out my dreams. All I ever asked for was to get my voice heard. Now it's going to be heard by the ears of the true hip-hop fans. I feel elated about ushering in the Rawkus brand, dealing with a major label I feel I might be looked over but this is to the left, it's good."

"The album will drop around August or in the fall. I'm hitting the road this summer doing some shows to let the people hear the music. The first single should drop around March or April. I came to them with a lot of quality music already recorded. I think that's why they were impressed. Hustle in Chicago is a brand name. Monopoly has worked with this kind of music before, first with Kanye then Lupe [Fiasco]. Just Blaze will be executive producing the album which in itself is dreamland. It's like being a kid in Toys'r'us and being allowed to just run around and play. I'm trying to bring back a certain feeling that I used to get listening to music that I don't get anymore," Naledge told SOHH exclusively.
