Nas Names New Album "Nigga"

ImageNas started many a heated conversation last year with the title of his album, Hip-Hop is Dead. With his new release entitled Nigga, he's guaranteed to have people talking once again.

As reported by Billboard, during his performance at New York City's Sneaker Pimps event this past Friday (October 12), the rapper announced to the crowd his new controversial album title.

Def Jam has not yet commented on the title but hopes to release the album before the end of this year.

The new disc is the follow-up to the Queens-bred rapper's Def Jam debut, Hip-Hop is Dead - an album that stirred up plenty of controversy amongst many notable Southern rappers. According to Nielsen's SoundScan, that album has since moved 743,000 units.

In other Nas news, the New York emcee's Greatest Hits album will be hitting shelves on November 6 - coincidently set for release on the same day as former rival Jay-Z's American Gangster. The compilation will be on Nas' prior label home, Columbia Records.
