Mac Minister Sought In Kansas City Double Murder

Bay Area based rapper Mac Minister is being sought by police for his connection in the murders of Kansas City rapper Fat Tone and his friend Jermaine "Cowboy" Akins.

According to police reports, Fat Tone (born Anthony Watkins) and Akins were last seen leaving their hotel with Dow on May 23, 2005. The two were later found shot dead at a Las Vegas construction site by a security guard.

During the investigation, Watkins' mother divulged to police that Mac Minister (born Andre Dow) told her son and Akins that he would introduce them to Snoop Dogg, who was in town for a concert on the same night to discuss signing a record deal.

Police believe that Fat Tone's death could have been in retaliation for the killing of Bay Area rapper Mac Dre. Dre was shot and killed in a 2004 drive by shooting, on Kansas City's S. 71 highway. Fat Tone was considered a person of interest in the murder but never a suspect

Police also believe Mac Minister had an accomplice in the double homicide. Early into the investigation, police arrested Mac's friend, Jason Mathis. A white Pontiac Sunfire, owned to Mathis's girlfriend, Lee "Alana" Danae Laursen, was seen leaving the scene of the murder.

The Sunfire was later found burning at Sixth Street and Cherry Avenue early morning on May 25, 2005. Six months later, Laursen was found dead close to a curb in Fairfield, California.

Mathis is still in custody and is awaiting trail in Las Vegas.
