The Roots' ?uestlove Parties With Dave Chappelle, Helps "Babies Make Babies"

The Roots drummer Ahmir "?uestlove" Thompson, who served as musical directpr for Dave Chappelle's surprise Brooklyn "block party" in 2004, is mixing audio highlights of the concert for a soundtrack album to the forthcoming film, Dave Chappelle's Block Party.

The soundtrack for the film, due in theaters March 3, is said to include Erykah Badu, Jill Scott, Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, and The Roots. Kanye West and reunited hip-hop heavyweights The Fugees also headlined the show, but it is unknown whether their performances will be featured on the album.

"To me, it's one of the best things that I've worked on," said ?uestlove, who also recently released his Babies Making Babies II mixtape.

In related news, The Roots, along with Chappelle and actor Don Cheadle, recently hosted their third annual Grammy Jam Session. Guests at the event, which took place at L.A.'s Key Club, included Jay-Z, Common, Erykah Badu, and a host of other celebrities.
