Childish Gambino: "Someone Buy Me Out Of This Contract"

Childish Gambino appears to be unhappy with his record label following the release of his "Sweatpants" video. The rapper, who released his because the internet album in 2013 under Glassnote Records, voiced his displeasure with his current record label with a series of Twitter posts made yesterday (April 14).

"so this sweatpants video and blog was important to us. and it wasnt handled correctly," Gambino said via Twitter. "we were told a lot of things were gonna happen and they were all lies. so im done. someone buy me out of this contract. a lot of people came around after our first week sales. all those people are welcome now. def jam, atlantic, whatever. i dont like record companies. but im not having another project go through this."

Gambino has utilized social media to vent about some of his frustrations in the past. In 2013, the rapper denied being clinically depressed after making a series of somber posts on social media networks.
