Jay-Z Concert Reportedly Canceled Due To "Fireworks & Terrorism" Concerns
According to the New York Post , Jay-Z’s concert, which initially received the green light from the city, was to take place on top of the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City and would have aired later that day on “Late Show With Dave Letterman.”
While speaking to the New York Post, a source cited holiday-related “fireworks and terrorism” concerns as the reason behind the cancellation.
“The mayor’s office approved it, and then just like that, it got denied… It’s because of the holiday weekend. They were concerned about fireworks and terrorism,” the source revealed.
A scheduled meeting between Jay-Z, David Letterman, and various city and police officials was also reportedly canceled. As of now, it’s unclear if the concert will be rescheduled for a later date.
Jay-Z’s Magna Carta Holy Grail will be released via a free Samsung app tomorrow (July 4) and will be available for purchase beginning on July 7.
