Jermaine Dupri Gets Icy With Cartier For A Good Cause

Jermaine Dupriand Cartier collaborated to design limited edition sunglasses for a special event to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The eyewear, with its rimless frames, bubinga wood, platinum finish and fade lenses, are valued at $1,500. Jermaine Dupri's signature is etched in the lens and the frames feature the Cartier "C" logo.

JD recently introduced the shades at a Hurricane Relief Fund benefit at House of Cartier in Atlanta, attracting other entertainment notables like Nelly, Usher and Monica, among others.

Thirteen pairs of the exclusive eyewear was sold at the event, with 10% of the proceeds going to The Atlanta Community Food Bank and City of Refuge, both local liaisons for the Hurricane Relief Fund.

In addition to the Dupri signature shades, other eye-catching accessories were available at the benefit. Usher was said to have had his eye on an icy Riviera Santos watch worth $375,000.

Cartier Store Manager, John Terracino, commented, "The party was a great success and we were so pleased with the attendance and support from Jermaine. There was so much excitement in the air...and we have a lot of sales pending."
