"Making The Band" Choreographer Fired, Accuses Diddy Of Threatening Her
According New York's Daily News, Gibson filed a complaint with the NYPD on May 11, claiming an argument had ensued with Combs and guest judge Michael Bivins - formerly of New Edition and BBD - after the current contestants gave disappointing performances.
The incident, which occurred on April 25 at the New York Sports Club in Greenwich Village, happened after Diddy and Bivins yelled at Gibson because the contestants didn't learn her prescribed choreography.
The incident escalated as Bivins accosted Gibson, while Combs menaced and threatened her with a chair. According to Gibson's complaint, she was able to break free from Bivins and eventually left the set.
Sources close to Combs deny he picked up a chair to threaten Gibson and asserted that the argument was an attempt to make good television that Gibson overreacted to.
"This is just another example of a false accusation by someone trying to take advantage of Sean's success and celebrity status," said Diddy's attorney Benjamin Brafman.
Gibson's attorney Peter Toumbekis said her contract is with MTV and Combs does not have the power give out pink slips.
The show's finale has been delayed because of the dispute.
