"Don't Believe The Hype," Dipset Camp Deny Rift With Cam'ron
Diplomats VP of A&R Duke Da God appeared on DJ Green Lantern's Monday night Sirius satellite show on Monday (May 7), alongside fellow Dips Freekey Zeeky and 40 Cal.
The three appeared on Green Lantern's "The Invasion Show," which airs on Sirius Satellite radio station "The Hip Hop Nation." Duke, Freekey and 40 used the appearance primarily to promote their newest release More than Music Vol. 2, which landed in stores yesterday (May 8), but the three also fielded calls from listeners to address the recent rift between Dipset founders Cam'ron and Jim Jones.
"I been reading shit that Cam'ron has been fuckin' havin' some shit with Dipset, and he ain't really down with the Dips no more," one Massachusetts listener posed to Diplomat camp members.
While one unidentifiable voice admitted the inevitability of the inquiry, saying "I was waiting for that," the others quickly shot back, "don't believe the hype, don't believe everything you hear," and "nah believe none of what you hear, half of what you see," denying the rumored friction between Cam'ron and other members of the set.
The caller next followed by questioning, "what's the deal with the Cam and the Tru Life shit?" to which he received a very similar response, "Believe none of what you hear, half of what you see, don't believe everything you hear."
The questions sparked a short debate in the studio over whether such questions are reasonable. While one Dipset member dismissed the caller by saying, "them people crazy" another felt the queries were a natural response, saying "why not? Shit, talk about it, people wanna know."
Recently Hot 97 personality Miss Info revealed that Jim Jones had admitted to having a strained relationship with Cam'ron. Jones backed out of a previously scheduled appearance on Funkmaster Flex's radio show Monday night (May 7) where he had been expected to speak on that revelation, as well as to address the rumors of the alleged altercation between Cam'ron and Tru Life.
