Mariah, Green Day Billboard Finalists

  With seven nominations each, Mariah Carey, 50 Cent and Green Day are the leading contenders for the 2005 Billboard Music Awards. Carey, 50 Cent and Green Day are all finalists for Artist of the Year and Album of the Year, and Carey and 50 Cent are in the running for R&B/Hip-Hop Album of the Year and R&B/Hip-Hop Artist of the Year.

Carey's hit, "We Belong Together," is up for Hot 100 and R&B/Hip-Hop Song of the Year, and Carey is also nominated for Female R&B/Hip-Hop Artist Of The Year.

50 Cent's additional nominations include Rap Artist of the Year, Rap Song of the Year, Rap Album of the Year and Ringtone of the Year.

Green Day's other nominations include Group of the Year, Digital Song of the Year, Rock Artist of the Year, Modern Rock Artist of the Year and Modern Rock Song of the Year.

Other artists to receive multiple nominations are Destiny's Child, Kelly Clarkson, the Killers, Gwen Stefani, Fantasia, the Game, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz, Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails.

FOX will broadcast the 2005 Billboard Awards live from Las Vegas on December 6th.
