Plies Announces New Mixtape “On Trial”; Preps New Album “Purple Heart”
Fort Myers, Florida rapper Plies has announced he is releasing a new mix tape titled “On Trial.”
The rapper will release the mix tape to coincide with NBA All-Star weekend, which is taking place in Orlando Florida.
“Lot going on in a ni**a life, and a nigga feel like honestly, most ni**as out for real, ni**as lives are on trial every day. I think a ni**a can never escape they past for real and that’s smoething I been talking to my brother about…the past follows you forever.”
“On Trial” will be Plies last mixtape, before he drops his official album which will be titled Purple Heart.
“This mixtape is so different for me, because I was able to allow myself to go back and really pour my heart out for the first time in a long time, about shit that I felt like was important.”
In December of 2011, Plies and his brother Ronell “Big Gates” LeVatte were ordered to pay $85, 280 to victims after an eight-day civil trial for a violent shooting in July of 2006.
He said that actually being “on trial” was an eye opening experience.
“I’ma touch on certain aspects that I feel like allow you to really understand how I think for real. Being a street ni**a that comes from Ft Myers and never had shit for real, but also to have been blessed to play with financial means that a ni**a never dreamed of in my opinion, I think it’s important to me. I wanna open up and do shit I never did before.”
The rapper will release the “On Trial” mixtape on Friday, February 24 at 3:00 PM.
