Wu-Tang Clan And Rage Against The Machine Reunite
The two groups, who previously planned a tour pairing in 1997, will share a bill for the July 28th East Coast debut of the Rock the Bells Festival at New York's Randalls Island on July 28th, as well as August 11th and 18th shows in San Bernardino and San Francisco California.
"It's definitely our fans' dream billing," Rock the Bells organizer Chang Weisberg told Billboard.com.
The full Rock the Bells lineup has yet to be announced, but the event will serve as a reunion for both groups, since Rage disbanded in 2000 after Zack de la Rocha quit and many of the remaining members joined Chris Cornell to form Audioslave. In addition to the Rock the Bells shows, Wu-Tang is also reuniting in the studio. The Wu agreed in December to release a new album via SRC Records. 8 Diagrams, the group's first album since 2001, is scheduled for release this Summer.
Ironically, the last show that Wu-Tang performed with the late Ol' Dirty Bastard was a 2004 Rock the Bells set.
