Jay-Z's Driver Named In NYPD Police Probe Over Ticket Fixing

Just one week after rapper Jay-Z was named in an internal affairs investigation for receiving a police escort from Washington D.C. police, the Hip-Hop mogul's name is now surfacing in an NYPD investigation of police officers as well.

Up to 40 officers could be indicted as a result of an investigation regarding rampant ticket fixing within the NYPD.

The New York Daily News reports that an investigation began when the NYPD's Internal Affairs department decided to take a closer look at tickets issued to Alice Alex Rodriguez, George Steinbrenner and Jay-Z's driver.

The rap mogul's driver was stopped on the West Side Highway for speeding last year, but the officer lost the paper work, resulting in the case being dismissed.

Other celebrities' representatives regularly called into certain precincts to have minor traffic tickets and other violations dismissed.

The news comes after last week's reports that Jay-Z, along with figures like Bill Gates, The New York Rangers, Charlie Sheen and other dignitaries received unauthorized police escorts from Washington, D.C. police.

The NYPD was also accused of providing an unauthorized police escort for Sean "Diddy" Combs from New York to New Jersey, after the rap star performed at Hammerstein Ballroom on April 23rd.
