"Hustle & Flow" Director Recruits David Banner & Justin Timberlake For New Flick

David Banner is set to grace the big screen alongside Samuel L. Jackson and Justin Timberlake in the film Black Snake Moan.

Banner took time off from his recording schedule in 2004 to study acting and landed the sought-after role the following year.

Black Snake Moan, a title inspired by the blues artist Blind Lemon Jefferson, was written and directed by Craig Brewer and produced by John Singleton - the same team responsible for 2005's Oscar Award winning Hustle & Flow.

In related news, the Mississippi rapper recently handed out toys and money to needy families in his home state over the Christmas holiday. The rapper/producer also donated an additional $15,000 to local area families in an effort to provide holiday cheer to impoverished residents.

Black Snake Moan, which also features Christini Ricci and John Cothran Jr., hits theatres on February 23.
