T.I. & Lil Jon Spread Holiday Spirit In Atlanta
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the aforementioned rappers visited the home of 11-year-old Ajmal Acklin, who suffers from an incurable from of cancer called acute lymblastic leukemia, set up by Hot107.9 radio personality Griff.
"I got a call around Thanksgiving from this guy who was like 'We have a friend - we know this family' we want to put you in touch with," Griff explained to the Journal-Constitution. "And around this time we get all kinds of calls from people wanting big-time laptops, PCs, cars and whatever ... but when I talked to [Ajmal's] mom, she said they didn't want anything. He was just a hip-hop fan."
Griff and his fellow "A-Team Morning Show" member Akini then reached to some of their celebrity friends and just after 11 a.m. on Thursday (December 21), the radio announcers, T.I., Fabo and former Xscape member Kandi, all showed up at Ajmal's Norcross apartment.
Laying in his living room attached to an oxygen tank, Ajmal was treated to gifts and prayers from everyone of his visitors. "I really am glad that they came and brought a smile to his face ," Ajmal's mother told the Journal-Constitution.
Hot 107.9 also hooked up with Lil Jon to spread more Christmas cheer. The Atlanta producer will be passing out toys at the station's studios today (December 22). Jon will then make a stop at Toys R Us to personally hand out gift cards he purchased for foster children from the Neighbor To Family organization.
