Producer for Dr. Dre & 50 Cent Inks Label Deal
The agreement will allow Rotem to sign artists to his label as well as develop and produce artists. Epic Records will handle the marketing, promotion, sales and distribution of the label.
"The deal was designed so that J.R.'s relationship to Epic will be what [Dr.] Dre's relationship is to Interscope," said Zach Katz, Rotem's manager, who partnered with the producer in the label and serves as its CEO. "He'll be the musical ear and face of the label."
Rotem has quickly risen to success with his singles and album cuts to the aforementioned artists in addition to Snoop Dogg, Lil Kim, Rick Ross and Britney Spears. Some of his work has even been handpicked by Dre for the mythical Detox album.
"I think I have the ability to both make hits and help make artists," Rotem said via a statement. "I don't want to overstate things, but I'm very excited about my forthcoming work."
Rotem is presently prepping the release of 16-year-old Sean Kingston, the first signee off his imprint.
