Jay-Z Flows for Charity, Broadcasts Live On AOL
The "H 2 the IzzO" concert will take place on Friday, November 24, at the Roseland Ballroom in NYC, with tickets becoming available today through TicketMaster. The concert will also be broadcast globally online by AOL Music LIVE! for free at 10:00pm ET on the day of the show, and can be viewed by fans using the On Demand feature after its initial airing as well.
"We were thrilled to work with Jay-Z at Live 8, and ever since we have been trying to find the right opportunity to once again bring the full power of Jay-Z's music and message to fans online," said Jack Isquith, Executive Producer of AOL Music LIVE! "We are proud to partner with Jay-Z to broadcast the 'H 2 the IzzO' charity concert on AOL, as we see this broadcast as the perfect marriage of a great artist, a needed cause and the force of the Web."
After generating awareness of the world's water crisis with a special documentary which recently aired on MTV2, the Jigga man is continuing his crusade to effect change and help to bring clean water to the scores of people globally who desperately need it.
"The "H 2 the IzzO" benefit concert is going to be a high-energy experience," said Jay-Z via a statement. "Having AOL Music LIVE! broadcasting it to fans live and on demand around the world is a remarkable thing, not just because of the new album but because we have a chance to help raise awareness of a very serious problem for more than 1 billion people."
Proceeds from the show will benefit PlayPumps International, a nonprofit collaborative that enables individuals, governments, foundations and companies to donate PlayPump water systems to rural communities and schools. The water systems draw clean water as children utilize playground equipment such as a merry-go-round, which generates water flow into a storage tank and is easily accessed with the turn of a tap.
