Shawty Redd Turns Himself In For Murder

Atlanta based producer  Shawty Redd reportedly turned himself in to authorities during the early morning hours of Friday (January 1) after shooting a man in his home in Hampton, Georgia.

The producer (real name: Demetrius Stewart) was at his home with an unspecified number of people during the early morning hours of New Year's Day.

At some point during the evening, an argument between Shawty Redd and another man got physical. The producer then retreived a firearm from somewhere in his home, and shortly thereafter, an unnamed man was shot and killed.

Shawty Redd then drove himslf to the Henry County Police Department and surrendered. He is currently being held pending his arraignment early Saturday morning (December 2).

He claims the shooting was in self-defense.

The victim's name is currently unknown.

Shawty Redd is best known for producing the bulk of Young Jeezy's debut album, Let's Get It: Thug Motivation 101. He's also worked with artists such as Gucci Mane, Snoop Dogg, 8 Ball & MJG, and others.
