Arrests Made In Jim Jones Concert Shooting Incident, Lupe Cancels Show

Three people have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Two suspects were arrested later Friday night, while the third suspect was taken into custody Monday (September 25th).

Virginia Beach's NBC affiliate station reported that the men arrested Friday night are Verlon A. Romain, 27, and Andre Roberts, 29. The police have charged both men, but neither has been charged with homicide at this time. The charges levied against Romain include possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, malicious assault, as well as use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Roberts has been charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The third suspect arrested in connection with the case is Ciara Vander, 19. Vander was also charged with malicious assault. None of the suspects have been charged with homicide because police believe that they were not involved in the death of Lance Hyman, 23, who was killed during the incident. The shooting occurred outside a Miami bar, following a Jim Jones performance.

In related news, the man of the hour, Lupe Fiasco, cancelled his scheduled performance at a London club. Lupe was supposed to perform on Sunday September 24th, but decided not to, after a shooting took place at the establishment. Police are investigating the incident. Meanwhile, Lupe will make up the performance on October 9th, at a venue to be named later.
