close friends give the hand slap, acquaintances get the head nod, significant other gets the kiss, and loved ones get the hugs (situational circumstances do apply)

Usually I will slap hands with someone whether its to greet or closing a deal. Every once'n a while I'll stumble across a person that does not deserve a handshake but I know they will reach out anyway, so to keep things civil I'll just meet them with a dap.

Oh, I forgot, in Montreal, when we meet up with a girl, we give a kiss on each cheek.
Left cheek first.

It really depends.

ANYTHING business/formal/professional/etc: handshake
Male friends: Dap, handshake, or pound, depending on who they are.
Good female friends: Hugs
Male acquaintances: Headnod
Female acquaintances: Wave
My mother: Hugs

Depends on what the atmosphere, if it's at school or hanging out with friends it's usually a what up followed by a fist bump or daps, more professional it's a handshake
